  • Highlight that sensitive and potentially distressing things may be discussed. Stress that you (and the group) recognize that it is natural and okay to feel upset, and encourage people to take time out whenever they need.
  • Encourage the person / people you are supporting to let you know if anything is making them uncomfortable, privately or to the group. If you feel someone is struggling, check in with them when appropriate, for example at a break or sooner if you feel they are distressed.
